Our activities are focused on:
• Empowering: We provide first-class knowledge programmes, fact-based content,
practical tools and best practices to empower directors to act.
• Connecting: We provide a network for directors to connect and exchange best
practices among peers, with key experts and stakeholders. We ensure dialogue
with leading EU officials on pertinent climate and nature policy topics.
Overview of the Role
As the lead of Chapter Zero Brussels (CZB), you are responsible for the strategic and
daily management of the organisation. You are committed to engaging and
empowering board members and executives in Belgium, enabling them to engage
and discuss the risks and opportunities of climate change at a highly strategic level.
You build a network, provide knowledge, skills, and tools, and contribute to the
realization of a sustainable, climate-neutral future.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading the strategy and operations of Chapter Zero Brussels.
• Actively collaborating within an executive team and organisation to co-create
objectives and strategies to achieve impact.
• Putting in place a fundraising strategy and securing private and public funding to
enable the organisation to achieve its objectives.
• Developing, maintaining, and activating the network of members (board
members and executives), partners, and supporters, including the Climate
Governance Initiative https://climate-governance.org/.
• Managing the CZB brand, website and communications (newsletter, LinkedIn
and events).
• Promoting, coordinating, and facilitating educational programmes, events and
masterclasses, such as the Director Climate Journey
• Supporting the content and organisation of community-building and knowledge-
sharing activities.
• Identifying and managing impactful partnerships to support the mission of the
organisation, including educational and knowledge partners, private sector
partners and civil society organisations.
• Overseeing and supporting the operations of CZB.
• Member of an executive team.
• Committing three days a week to Chapter Zero Brussels (contract terms to be
discussed separately).
Skills and Competencies
• Past experience in or engaging with boards and executive teams.
• Operational management within an association or network organisation in
Belgium.
• Experience with fundraising and business development.
• Demonstrable affinity with sustainable business, climate and nature issues,
corporate governance and strategic thinking. Being a thought leader in this space
would be an asset.
• Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to engage
stakeholders at various levels.
• Proficiency in organising and guiding events and educational programmes.
• Proficient in managing budgets and strategic plans.
• Excellent command of English, French and Dutch.
• Ability to work proactively and independently in a dynamic and changing
environment. Results-oriented.
