Understanding Double Materiality and Reporting: What Every Board Member Needs to Know

Together with EY Belgium, we recently organised an interactive discussion and knowledge sharing session for our members on the topic of Double Materiality & Reporting.

During this session, we covered topics such as:

  • ESG and Double Materiality

    • Today’s reality

    • Looking forward

    • Creating value

    • The role of the board

  • Sustainability and the board

    • The sustainable business imperative

    • A bold approach to sustainability policy and regulations

    • AI’s sustainability potential and responsible technology governance

The EY team also presented the results of their latest European Long-Term Value and Corporate Governance Survey which can be accessed here: https://www.ey.com/en_uk/long-term-value/europe-corporate-governance-survey-findings

This 2024 edition follows last year's report, which found that better governance accelerates sustainability outcomes and value creation for the company.

This is well aligned with our own research which looked at how to overcome the barriers to effective oversight of climate risks & opportunities within the board.

We thank the team at EY for their support in organising and for the excellent insights shared during this event.
