About the event
CGI Global Summit 2022: Ambition to Action
The Climate Governance Initiative (CGI) is hosting the Global Summit 2022: Ambition to Action, a 24-hour virtual conference on Wednesday, 12th October, 2022 spanning the globe and bringing together highly motivated board members and other eminent speakers who champion effective climate governance. Â
Following the success of CGI’s inaugural Global Summit in 2021, this year’s event will focus on actions that will help mobilise boards toward a net zero economy in the crucial next three years. Underpinned by the World Economic Forum’s Principles for Effective Climate Governance, it will focus on the role of boards in leading businesses through the necessary transition to net zero and capture examples of good practice from around the world.
The event programme features globally relevant keynote speakers and panels, as well as region-specific interactive sessions developed and delivered by CGI’s network of non-executive directors (NEDs), chairpersons and advisors. Drop-in networking sessions will provide attendees the opportunity to meet NEDs from around the world and discuss the ideas raised by the panels they have attended.
After you register, use the web or mobile app to network and choose from the programme of sessions to create your own customised agenda. Recordings and summaries of the event will be available on the CGI website after the Global Summit.
The Summit will also host three virtual roundtable discussions conducted by the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre, BCG and Heidrick & Struggles. The discussions will explore how boards are dealing with the strategic implications of climate change, going beyond relying on published ESG reports and metrics to bring an entirely new, forward-looking lens to strategy.Â
